Policy Statement for Swine Flu Control
It is our policy at (Company Name) to control the risks to the health and safety of all those who enter our premises, buildings and facilities, or maybe affected by activities under our control.
To achieve the effective implementation of this policy with regard to H1N1 swine flu pandemic, (Company Name) will ensure that any risks resulting from H1N1 swine flu pandemic alerts are assessed and controlled within the DEFRA guidelines.
The risks will be assessed and appropriate measures put in place. Remedial action will be implemented where the level of control requires improvement. The risk assessment will be reviewed regularly, at least every two years, or whenever there is any reason to suspect that it is no longer valid.
(Company Name) will consider the closure of any buildings, facilities, or premises that may present a risk in terms of H1N1 swine flu pandemic, in accordance with DEFRA instruction. This we regard as preventative action.
Where it is impracticable to eliminate all risk by removing or replacing the equipment or facility, suitable precautionary measures will be implemented, documented, and regularly monitored to ensure that the risks are minimised. This we regard as control action.
The required monitoring tasks and frequencies will be recorded as in the written Guidance Document for dealing with H1N1 swine flu pandemic. The written scheme will take into account the risk assessment and also any relevant best practice guidelines. All tasks in the written scheme will be allocated to names individuals.
(Company Name) will ensure that all employees and contractors are aware of their legal responsibilities and duties as allocated in the written Guidance Document for an H1N1 swine flu pandemic outbreak.
